Case file series 1 part 3

hIiIiIiIi...have one bozoz that is sooo stressed out today ......gah! annywhoo, heres the next part of the mystery story..enjoyyy!!!!hehe

“ Okay, I need all of you to tell me your alibis during the time around the murder, at around four o’ clock, until the five minutes after and before that. I need to solve this case immediately and for a start, I think that the culprit is among us this very moment.” Everyone looked uneasy but I noticed that Emily in particular, looked really nervous. Cindy’s thumb kept twitching, I knew she must have wanted to bite her nails like she usually does but she must have known that this isn’t a good time for it. Gordon was staying as calm as ever but he was clutching the tray he was holding very tightly. Collin’s eyes were flickering everywhere.

“First, let’s start with Emily Tinkle”. As I gestured for her to come with me to the corner with the squashy, comfy armchairs near the fireplace. As I interviewed her, my suspicion grew. I managed to pull a lot of information out of her. She was in the kitchen the previous hour, preparing for the evening’s ball. She claimed that Cindy was helping her before she excused herself to go to the toilet to talk with her city friend. She worked alone but after over half an hour, she grew worried of Cindy so she left the kitchen to make sure everything was all right. As she went in the toilet, she heard Cindy’s voice talking to the cell phone and she also saw the back of her boots from the hole under the toilet door, as if she was leaning against it. So Emily went back to work in the kitchen alone until the time of discovery when she decided to wake Madam Elizabeth up to get ready for the event. That was the end of her alibi. I recalled that I met her in the hallway after I saw the body. As I scanned her outfit, I could see that she got blotches of mud on her apron. Hmm.

“Next, Cindy Peals.” Cindy came forward and sat down in front of me. I examined her. Same regular short skirt and her ruffled shirt. Oh and her cowboy boots. Ugh, what a bad outfit. Her hair was messy and frizzed but had the effect of wind blowing through it. Huh. So her alibi was that she was working with Emily before she received a call from her friend and excused herself to chat in the toilet close by. She chatted there the whole hour, alone. Weird. She stated clearly that nobody came. She kept repeating that several times. Anyway, she had just finished when Emily called for her to the lounge, under my order. Well, that’s the end of it.

“Next, Gordon Smith.” The butler sat down too, stiffly. I noticed that his uniform was different. He said that his normal uniform went missing a day before and his other one was in the laundry. So his alibi was that he was cleaning and dusting the ancient vases in the antiques room when Emily came to request him to sharpen her dagger but he couldn’t really make out the dagger’s odd motive as the room was dim. He told her that he would do it later and put the dagger on top of the table in the room where he forgot to take it. When Emily called him, he had just got out of the room, failing to retrieve the dagger as it went missing but he didn’t dare to tell Emily. The end of alibi. Hmm, Emily didn’t tell me that. I guess she just didn’t want me to suspect her, I mean a dagger would have been a great murder weapon………..WAIT!!!!! wasn’t there a dagger with a dragon motive on the victim’s heart??? What does this mean? Only Gordon knew where the dagger was to use it. Hmm.

“Last, Collin Norman.” He was not much of a talker, really. Anywhoo, he claimed to be admiring one of his works for the last hour. He mumbled something about copy..copy of what? Copy of Victor horse? I couldn’t really catch that. But he said he didn’t do anything else but stay in his room until Emily called him. Okay…that’s it then. Nothing much but the copy of victor horse although I think I’m feeling a little dumb right now. Don’t know why but I’m drawn to this “horse”.
